Drinking Water Fountains is the leading specialist drinking fountain supplier in London. We are based in London but providing coverage across the UK. We do a lot of work for councils and companies within London and are available to provide a next working day call out service for repairs and call-outs.
We have done work on recent initiatives for drinking fountains in London such as the Evening Standards “Water on Tap” initiative and the Tiffany competition for drinking water fountains in the Royal Parks – and have done much work with councils in repairing and renewing previously neglected drinking fountains in public areas.
London’s is increasingly trying to lead the way in providing public drinking water fountains to minimise the usage of plastic bottles. The corporation of London installed a pilot drinking fountain which was launched in May 2010 in front of St Paul’s Churchyard. This is the first fully approved drinking fountain to be installed in London for 30 years. The drinking fountain is designed to refill water bottles and is proving to be a very popular facility for workers, residents and visitors to the City. An additional drinking fountain is to be installed soon outside the Monument and up to fifty more may follow over the coming years across the City.
The project has the goal of reducing the amount of plastic waste by providing refill stations from drinking fountains for water bottles. The fountains will function as a public amenity that will be especially vital during the summer months, and provide for the growing number of visitors to the capital during the 2012 Olympic Games.
We ask any companies or councils interested in these initiatives to contact us directly so that we can assist.
Can we afford to dig deep for drinking water fountains?
During a time when money is tight and many people in Britain are still struggling to find work, we are continually being asked to donate to charities who fund and oversee the building of drinking water fountains in developing countries. We’ve all seen the powerful, guild-inducing advertising, complete with harrowing statistics about how many children [...]
Royal Parks Foundation creates the ultimate drinking fountain
The Royal Parks Foundation’s quest to create the ultimate drinking fountain for the Royal Parks was finally complete as Watering Holes, a unique sculptural stone fountain, was launched in Green Park, following the unveiling of Moxon Architects’ Trumpet in Kensington Gardens earlier this year. The two fountains are the winners of an international RIBA design [...]Hydrating London for 2012
