Playground games to build up your thirst

School drinking water fountains are a must, particularly in the run-up to Summer and the (optimistic) promise of good weather for Britain over the season. It is vital for children to keep hydrated, not only for general health and well-being, but to help sustain concentration in the classroom. Of course, it is also important for little nippers to be active and release some of that endless energy, so we’ve come up with a list of our favourite playground games to help build up thirst, and encourage your little darlings to the drinking water fountain– maybe share these with yours!
Hopscotch: A classic favourite for decades, a game which requires a mixture of luck and skill- and of course balance to prevent from toppling over when standing on one leg!
Tag: Another favourite which has been around for yonks. Of course, it helps to have a lovely big playground for this one, and maybe even some trees and foliage to hide behind to try and deter the person on “it”!
Bumper car: Much less violent than it sounds, this wonderful skipping game requires concentration to be able to chant and skip simultaneously, but also skill to be able to clear the moving skipping rope…
